What is a web browser?

A web browser is a software application for accessing information through the world wide web.  Each individual page and image has a distinctive URL, enabling browsers to display them on the user’s device.

Most of the browsers are commercial in nature at the same time not safe, a user’s data is at risk.  So here is a web browser which is safe and eco-friendly at the same time.

Ecosia is a web browser which launched on 7 December 2009, donates 80%of surplus profit to the non-profit organization, with focus on tree plantation.  According to Wikipedia, “Ecosia considers itself a “social business”, is CO2-neutral[3] and claims to support full financial transparency,[4][5] and is certified by B-Lab as a benefit corporation.”

More than 38 billion trees have been planted until now.

Ecosia is available on all android and ios devices, rOur leading principle is that the trees should provide value to nature and people and be planted effectively results are powered by Ecosia’s own algorithms and Bing.

Eccosia’s mission is to plant 1 billion trees by 2020.  the leading principle of ‘Ecosia is that the trees should provide value to nature and people and be planted effectively.

Why Plants instead of any other cause?

For Ecosia, plants are super heroes.  Planting trees are excellent for the environment as they absorb CO2 drom the atmosphere.  Planting trees also help in the nutrition of the communities, as trees provide fruits and other edibles to the communities.

By planting a tree, you can fight climate change, restore landscapes, protect wildlife, provide nutrition, employment, education, medical assistance and political as well as economic stability. Mind-boggling, isn’t it?

At present Ecosia is running a plantation in Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Peru.

Ecosia is developed on a great concept of planting trees per searches on your browser.  The browser is welcomed by one and all, as it supports a great cause.  But it seems that complains are growing as the day passes for Ecosia.  Though Ecosia claimed transparency in financial matters and all the transactions are available on social media,  the malware complains are not easy to be overlooked.
